General Rules

The course rules outlined below and detailed in the Find Education Student’s Handbook are designed to ensure that all the students, staff and partners of Find Education are able to enjoy their stay in safety and free from any unpleasant, intimidating or aggressive behaviour.

The breach of any rule, as stated, may, if deemed significant, or prejudicial to other students, staff or partners of Find Education, result in dismissal from the programme. Furthermore, any student who breaks the law, uses violence, or displays aggressive, intimidating or persistent/inappropriate anti-social behaviour may be dismissed instantly from the programme. Should a student face instant dismissal, he/she will be withdrawn from the programme with immediate effect and will need to return home at his/her expense, at the earliest possible opportunity.

Key elements of Find Education rules (details in Find Education Student’s Handbook – shared with all clients and partners) include the below:

  • Students are expected to attend all meals, classes and arranged activities and excursions. Attendance registers are being kept.

  • All damage to property, equipment, facilities and accommodation will be charged to the student.

  • Gratuitous or wilful damage to school/host institution property, public property or other students' property may result in dismissal from the programme.

  • Consumption or possession of alcohol by students of any age is not permitted and will result in dismissal from the programme.

  • Use or possession of drugs is illegal, is not permitted and will result in instant dismissal from the programme.

  • Use of violence or aggressive, intimidating or persistent/inappropriate anti-social behaviour towards another student or member of staff will result in dismissal from the programme.

  • Any student who leaves the accommodation after curfew may be dismissed from the programme.

  • We expect students to behave reasonably and appropriately at all times (including when online or using any form of messaging or social media) towards other students and school staff and to respect cultural, racial and religious differences.

  • All students are expected to uphold the core British values of democracy, individual liberty, tolerance and rule of law.

Welfare

We make every effort to ensure students’ welfare at all times. Full details can be found in our Safeguarding & Student Welfare Policy (shared with all our clients and partners) and all parents/guardians must complete a parental consent form, upon registration.

Students need to be in good mental and physical health when starting a programme. Any matters relating to health must be declared upon application, so that proper arrangements can be made for their care. Find Education reserves the right to reject a student’s application, if it is deemed that the company is unable to provide the conditions for the safe participation of the student in our programmes.

All group leaders escorting groups in centres with underage students must have a ‘certificate of good conduct’ or ‘certificate of criminal record’ from their country of origin. Group leaders must be over the age of 20, when they arrive at any of the Find Education centres. Agents are obliged to ensure that group leaders in their employment have had the requisite background and criminal checks and comply with Find Education policies.

Changes to the programme

Find Education reserves the right to change the details of our services, including courses, facilities, accommodation and course dates, where circumstances beyond the company’s control necessitate such amendment. Services include excursions, catering, bookings, timetables, lessons, evening activities, accommodation and dates.

Changes requested by clients

Find Education reserves the right to charge an administration fee of £40, each time a change or cancellation request is processed, after a place has been confirmed. Additionally, when a change request for a previously confirmed accommodation is received less than 7 days in advance of the scheduled arrival date, an equivalent of a week’s accommodation penalty fee will be charged. These fees will not apply to upgraded or extended courses.

Accident & medical insurance

All students must arrive with appropriate accident, medical and travel insurance. Proof of this may be requested on arrival, in the form of a document with the student’s name and date of coverage. Copies of all such insurance policies, and evidence that all premiums have been paid, needs to be sent to Find Education prior to arrival. The company recommends that all students take the insurance policy offered by Find Education, which is tailored to the needs of international students. Find Education is able to provide insurance for all students at a cost of £25 per person per week.

Resolution of dispute

In the event of a dispute between an individual student and the school, procedures are in place to facilitate the resolution of the dispute, in accordance with Find Education Complaints Policy. Any complaint should first be made to the student’s Centre Manager/Academic Director. Each complaint will be fully investigated, provided that it is received within a month of the course ending and all fees have been paid.

Liability

Find Education, its staff, representatives, agents, shareholders and directors will not be liable for loss, damage, cost or injury to persons or property, howsoever caused, except where liability is expressly imposed by law. Find Education will not be liable in the event of any service contracted to be supplied by Find Education becoming impossible or unforeseeably impracticable or penal to supply, for any reason or any cause outside the control of Find Education.

Data Protection

Find Education will need specific personal information from each student, in order to process their application and enable their participation in our programmes. Each student or parent/guardian, when signing their application form, will be asked to give their consent for their personal information to be handled and kept securely by Find Education and for such details to be shared, as necessary, with the relevant departments of Find Education and partners/providers of education, accommodation and any other services related to our programmes.

In the event of any of the students wishing to withhold any of their personal information, at any time, they will need to notify Find Education immediately in writing.

Under UK law, Find Education is obliged to share information with UK Visas and Immigration services and the authorities, if required to do so.

In order to fulfil our obligations to our accreditation bodies and/or to the British Authorities, it may be necessary for us to request a copy of students’ passport and visa (if applicable), and to collect contact details for them, including a mobile number and an emergency contact. Students must agree to provide these details and keep them up to date, if there are any changes. All agents that collect and maintain such personal information, on behalf of Find Education, must contractually agree to share it, as necessary for the students’ care.

Find Education confirms that all personal information provided by the students will be kept secure and used only for the purposes of processing the students’ application and offering the best service possible, throughout their stay.

Sample programmes featured in marketing materials are for illustrative purposes and Find Education reserves the right to change these, when required.

Find Education reserves the right, unless we are advised to the contrary by a student’s parent/guardian in writing (or through the parental consent form), to use photographs or videos featuring our students, as part of Find Education promotional material.

Students will be asked to fill out a questionnaire at the end of the course. Find Education reserves the right to use this material in future promotion, unless otherwise stated by the parent/guardian.

If a programme includes a public holiday, then there is no reduction in the course fees. Programmes are structured on the basis of a 7-night or 14-night stay; discounts will not be offered if a client elects to stay for 13 or 6 nights.

Force Majeure

Find Education is not liable in the event where we are unable to fulfil any service to which we are contractually bound because of fire, natural disaster, acts of government, failure of suppliers or subcontractors, acts of terrorism, labour disputes, travel delays and cancelations, or any other reasons which are beyond our control.

English Law

English Law shall apply to the contract and any non-contractual disputes arising therefrom, and involved parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts. These Terms & Conditions must be read in conjunction with the contract for each booking. These Terms & Conditions, together with the agency agreement, constitute a legally binding contract.
